CHRISTIAN ROSENAU

Christian Rosenau began classical guitar lessons at the age of nine and studied guitar at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Weimar. His first musical influences came from his family's musical environment and later from his father's record collection, which mainly included rock 'n' roll classics, but also the album Fireball by Deep Purple, which, along with classic Spanish guitar music, was one of the musical inspirations of his youth. He began listening to his favorite songs on records and cassettes and formed his first band at the age of 13, for which he also wrote the songs. In the following years he played in formations across a wide range of styles, from big band jazz to hard rock. He can be heard on several albums by the metal band Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, among others. He eventually met the fingerstyle guitarists Thomas Fellow and Don Ross, who changed his view of the sonic possibilities of the acoustic guitar. After completing his studies, he devoted himself entirely to the acoustic guitar, performing classical solos and his own compositions, participating in various theater productions, and playing in duos with various singers. In addition to his musical career, Christian Rosenau is the author of several books and has received numerous awards for his literary work.
