Work on the new album began in 2018. Meanwhile, in 2021, “Das Abendland Projekt” released its third album, “Basta & Amen”. Both the music and the lyrics paint a picture of the late 3th and early 18th centuries, a time of great unrest in Europe. The common thread that followed was “being on the road”, wandering through landscapes and historical events and encountering people who are (or should be) familiar to us from history. This departure, which musically and lyrically stretches like a brushstroke in a high arc across the continent, sweeping from France via Scotland, Norway, Russia, Prussia, the Duchy of Weimar, to Austria, Tyrol and Italy, before finally coming to an end on the German Baltic Sea shore. Well, for all those who like great theater or music that combines neoclassicism and electronica; who love the paintings of Kasper David Friedrich; Feel sympathy for Andreas Hofer or search in vain through schoolbooks for what happened in the Vendee during the French Revolution. May many of you be transported, smiling or enthusiastic, back to a bygone era, listening thoughtfully to the magnificent voices of the speakers.
