FUOST & Ralf-Peter Fuchs

GHOSTS OF ODD QUATRO is a collaboration between the Tübingen trio FUOST and the established Jazz saxophonist Ralf-Peter Fuchs from Witten. The project can be described as a variant of "fusion". understood as a blend of rock and jazz into a homogeneous sound that extends far beyond The sum of its individual parts goes beyond what is necessary for a cohesive whole. Here, finely spun post-rock elements meet.Soundscapes; raw and grinding stoner riffs; a oscillation between filigree and raw primal force A flowing, always melodic bass; a drum kit deeply trained in jazz, which puts its heart into every beat and Each bar is expressed with meaning, and finally a saxophone that explores all the registers of unbridled improvisation. from embracing harmonies to its function as a singing voice.

The resulting music is a sonic kaleidoscope that reveals new details with each listen. makes it visible. All the instruments take turns coming forward and receding, but possess, like the four musicians, a unique quality. behind it all lies its own individual character, which is not smoothed out in the overall sound, but is celebrated. Although no human voices can be heard on the album, GHOSTS OF ODD QUATRO tells countless stories – stories that even the musicians themselves only to guess at and whose endings remain open.

All songs were recorded live by FUOST together in their Tübingen studio and later complemented by the saxophone of Ralf-Peter Fuchs and individual guitar parts. This was a deliberate choice. Imperfection, sometimes harshness, is part of the sound concept and here represents the primacy of the Organic.

GHOSTS OF ODD QUATRO was mixed and mastered by the US East Coast studio "Dead Air". and “Loud Sun”. The album artwork was created by photographer Jakob Schnetz with the assistance of designed by the artist Pamela Mannke-Gardecki.
