Listen, pause, let it sink in... With melodic compositions and expressive lyrics, the GLUTSUCHT (un)plugged ensemble has created an extraordinary work and, at the same time, a musical milestone with its first album. The three musicians of the hard rock band GLUTSUCHT transform their well-known rock songs into acoustic goosebump-inducing moments with a creative reinterpretation using piano and saxophone. For this, the three band members Dirk Michaelis (vocals, guitar), Dr. Julia Michaelis (bass, vocals), and Ingo Hanke (drums, vocals), along with pianist Mathias Heß and saxophonist Manfred Wetter, joined the band.
GLUTSUCHT, traditionally known for their blend of expressive lyrics and melodic, yet heavy guitar thunderstorms, suddenly reveal an unexpectedly new face to fans and friends with their (un)plugged ensemble and their sustaining, calm interpretations. The songs from their two released rock albums, such as "Urbane Dekadenz," sound somehow familiar through their lyrics and melodies, yet completely different... The band imbues their profound lyrics with an emotional and sonically powerful depth that uniquely captures the ear, heart, and mind. The stories, told in vivid lyricism, which transports listeners from real life into the hustle and bustle of our present, are always musically virtuosic.
The GLUTSUCHT (un)plugged ensemble is a pure contrast, demonstrating the band's musical diversity, which, if you listen closely, still manages to remain true to itself. A production in tune with the zeitgeist, infectious with its linguistic and musical expressiveness!
