JANNTETT

Janntett is the musical project of Jannek Meyer, a versatile saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist from Oldenburg, whose musical journey has demonstrated an impressive evolution. His career began at a young age with a love of heavy metal, but then evolved through various genres such as rock, blues, pop, and German rock, all the way to jazz.

Throughout his career, Meyer has been active in various bands and projects, reflecting his musical versatility. His engagements have included performances and recordings with Lacerate, Memory Motel, Jarome, Villanova, and the Pink Floyd tribute band Feeling Floyd, among others. He is currently also part of the GLUTSUCHT (un)plugged ensemble, where he contributes his talent on the saxophone.

Meyer's passion for jazz and blues is evident, among other things, in his regular appearances at jazz and blues sessions at Wilhelm 13 in Oldenburg. These events provide him with a platform to showcase his improvisational talent and exchange ideas with other musicians.

A significant milestone in Meyer's career is his new record, "Dark Side of the Soul." This album, which features exclusively original compositions and blends jazzy and rock tones, marks an important step in his artistic development. It is also his first release featuring the saxophone as the main instrument.

In addition to his practical musical experience, Meyer also completed an academic education in musicology. This course undoubtedly deepened and enriched his theoretical understanding and approach to music.

Jannek Meyer's musical career demonstrates a remarkable evolution, from the harsh sounds of heavy metal to the complexity of jazz. His versatility as a multi-instrumentalist and his ability to move across different genres open up a wide range of possibilities for him.
