MATTHIAS DYMKE

"Anyone who wants to enjoy a concert by pianist Matthias Dymke must follow his musical journey with concentration and curiosity. The young man from the Ruhr region has been demonstrating his qualities as a virtuoso keyboardist and intelligent composer for several years now, without being one of the loudest representatives of his profession." - Thomas Becker, WAZ.
His solo music moves between jazz, classical-style compositions and free improvisation, leaving plenty of room for spontaneity alongside finely balanced arcs of tension.

Although the Duisburg native has been active in the Ruhr area jazz scene and beyond for many years in a wide variety of ensembles, his heart's project remains solo playing, in which the instrument's diversity can fully unfold.

What happens when music makes images sound?

In his latest album “Funky Fish,” M. Dymke invites you on a special sound journey, inspired by the paintings of Dorothee Becker.
