Brothers Larry Butcher and Hans W. Metzger have been playing together in bands since their youth in the 1980s.

After the end of their last band, the Bonn-based punk rock trio Wantu & The srie 4's, in spring 2020, it immediately became clear to both of them that they wanted to continue making music together. However, the contact restrictions imposed by the first coronavirus lockdown made the search for fellow musicians considerably more difficult. Thus, the duo MetzgerButcher was born: two brothers with bass and guitar, together with an electronic rhythm machine!

Influenced by punk from the '70s and NDW bands of the early '80s, the musical direction was set. In their first two years of existence, MetzgerButcher released two digital singles and the two EPs "2020 Presents..." and "Culture" on CD.

The debut album "Zwei vor Zwölf," released digitally and on vinyl in June 2023, musically follows on from the first releases: punk-rock songs alternate with darker, sometimes more relaxed songs. All tracks share German lyrics and electronic beats.
