MISS ROCKESTER

MISS ROCKESTER (alias Silvana Mehnert) was born in Dresden on April 22, 1980. Her musical career began with the Dresden Philharmonic Children's Choir, with which she toured the world for eleven years.
Parallel to her vocal training in the children's choir, Silvana Mehnert began piano studies at the Heinrich Schütz Conservatory in Dresden in 1992, which she completed in 1999 with excellent examination results.
In 1996, she founded the vocal ensemble “nonets” with fellow choir members, which was renamed “MEDLZ” in 2005 and is now one of the best female a cappella bands in Europe.
In addition to her work with "medlz," she has worked as a singer, composer, or arranger in many other musical projects, including The Cashbags, Stefan Johansson, Ferenc Husta, Schraubenyeti, Alice Roger, and many more.
In 2014, she began making her own musical mark. Under the stage name "MISS ROCKESTER," she released her first solo album, "A Ride on Either Side," on the record label Timezone Records.
Her second album, “Songs, poems & stars,” followed in 2017, and in 2020 she fulfilled a long-held childhood dream with her third album, “Dieser Moment,” releasing a German-language orchestral album in collaboration with the Elbland Philharmonie Sachsen.
In the winter of 2020/2021 she wrote a Christmas EP, which was released in 2021 under the title “Snow on New Year’s Day”.
She will give a first glimpse of her fourth album in December 2023 with the release of the single "Nein" on December 15.12.2023, XNUMX. A song with a captivatingly haunting, powerful, and courageous message.
In 2024, she will celebrate her 25th anniversary with her band “MEDLZ” with a “Best of Tour,” which will also be her farewell tour, as she will leave the band at the end of the year to concentrate fully on her solo career.
