The Salzburg-based composer and singer/songwriter Othmar Plöckinger released his first production back in 2008. It was still very much in the style of English and Irish folk music and drew heavily on Victorian poetry.
After a hiatus of several years, Plöckinger resumed his musical activities and expanded his repertoire in many areas: Compositionally, he incorporated influences from classical music as well as rock and pop; lyrically, his own poetry took center stage; and musically, Plöckinger now employed a wide range of instruments. Furthermore, he increasingly invited fellow musicians and singers into the studio to record his pieces with them.
Plöckinger's CDs always have a theme that is reflected in one way or another in the individual tracks. Occasionally, there are even overarching narratives across multiple CDs. However, the music is always at the heart of it all. Therefore, the packaging of the productions is always kept as simple and uncluttered as possible.
