Wild pop music that will put a broad smile on your face, surprising sounds and arrangements that challengingly combine diverse musical decades: Poly Ghost are versatile genre spirits! On their second album, "Miracle" (June 2.6.2023, 90), they reveal and celebrate the special, sometimes unseen things in life. Self-love far removed from ego and narcissism, allowing absurd weaknesses and fantasies, self-empowerment in life's situations... Much remains a wonderful mystery, and this is precisely what Poly Ghost dedicates themselves to. The album manages to convey a soundtrack-of-life feeling that feels familiar yet refreshing at the same time. They take you on flying pineapple slices, into crazy thoughts of being in love, into pushing workouts, into a rendezvous with macaroni and cheese... plus there's 70's dance, wild synth pop, XNUMX's funk/disco elements and suddenly bursting guitars.
Fans of extravagant indie will get their money's worth here!
Combined with their brightly colored, absurdly creative music videos, they create a universe in which anything can be thought and done. A playground with Moog synthesizers and Big Muff pedals, disco balls and sequined jackets, dolphins, wolves, and Tamagotchis.
In "Artificial Crush" they address their love for an artificial intelligence in a catchy video with charm and wit, starting with the line "I don't wanna work anymore" and culminating in a debauched ending with KISS associations.
In the single “Full Body Workout” they are reminiscent of the French House gods Justice and Daft Punk, playing with signature sounds and expectations – where else should the music video take place than in the gym: The
Trio takes you back to the time of 80s workout VHS tapes on the sports floor.
And their third single, "Thinking of You," is all about that favorite band you idolize as a teenager and would do anything to be a part of. With their usual playful, yet casual and entertaining style, Poly Ghost also makes references to various musical decades.
It seems as if Poly Ghost taps into a creative well that is constantly bubbling.
