RALF-PETER FUCHS

Every day, we are surrounded by digital entities that act on our behalf and increasingly make decisions on our behalf... My new CD, "Robots and Saxes," counteracts this world by using computer-generated and instrumentally recorded electronic sounds as a backdrop for free improvisation on saxophones and flutes. Interactions between robots and humans gave rise to atmospheric sounds and melodic lines influenced by the language of jazz and other musical genres, from new music to psychedelic rock a la Pink Floyd. Contingency was generated through a dialogue between robots and saxophones; human creativity found its way.
