Over a decade ago, we released new music with the Solingen cult band RANDOM, featuring the "Nietenpapst" – and now we're back! For the band's 40th anniversary, we were in the studio for the first time since 2009 to record new songs, says Enrico "Rico" Palazzo (lead vocals).
The anniversary production took three years, but now the work is complete. We began work in 2020, and I recorded the vocals for the first four songs in an intensive six-hour marathon. Eleven more songs followed, for a total of 17 tracks, which were recorded in the legendary Schallsucht studio—also known as the living room of "Extrabreit." Big thanks go to sound engineer Thorsten and sound engineer Michael Danielak, who did a fantastic job. And of course, to studio dog Eddie (smiles).
The anniversary edition will be released as a limited vinyl edition and also includes a CD with four bonus tracks and a lavish 16-page booklet. A DVD with exclusive insights into the band's history, including footage from European tours and cult interviews (including with Playmate Nadine Tschanz), rounds out the package – perfect for fans and collectors, especially during the Christmas season.
We are especially proud of our musical excursions into classical music. Horn, saxophone, and trumpet wind instruments, conducted by Viktor Filippo, add a whole new dimension to the songs. Viktor has also published a Christmas songbook containing the sheet music and lyrics of the anniversary pieces.
An exciting production – the result speaks for itself!
