Ruth Bender

Music has always been both a calling and a refuge for Ruth Bender. As a teenager, she switched from violin to electric guitar and performed with various school bands. This led to her studying jazz guitar at the Maastricht Conservatory, which she successfully completed. During her studies, however, she realized that her path lay more in songwriting than jazz, and she began playing and recording her songs with other musicians. This was always done independently, and now she will be releasing her latest song, "David vs. Goliath," for the first time on Timezone Records. Her music moves between folk, pop, and singer-songwriter styles – characterized by a clear voice, sensitive guitar playing, and honest lyrics that go straight to the heart.
