Sunny moments, dark nights and a reason to celebrate
Anyone who thinks of “Sonne Mond Taverne” as a parody of a well-known children’s song will quickly be surprised that the album by the five musicians has more to offer than the title suggests at first glance.
With medieval-inspired stories and atmospheric drinking songs, Saitentanz not only puts medieval fans in a good mood. Traditional folk influences and modern pop-rock elements reflect life in all its facets in their music, inspiring many people beyond the boundaries of German folk. Three-part vocals, fiddle, and Irish bouzouki add musical color to a foundation of bouncing bass and drums – sometimes humorous and festive, sometimes thoughtful and honest.
The third album, "Sonne Mond Taverne," represents all of life's sunny, carefree moments, but also its darker underbelly. Of course, Saitentanz doesn't neglect drinking songs! The musicians have remained true to the tavern theme since 2011 and—as always—provide a reason to celebrate!
You can experience string dancing live on large and small stages in Germany, at medieval markets, in taverns, bars and pubs.
