Strange Enough was founded in 2017 by Hel Prixs (vocals) and Martin Marksteiner (keyboard, programming, songwriting). Originally conceived as a one-off project for a planned concert in Münster, the spontaneous collaboration quickly evolved into an independent duo with its own musical identity. Strange Enough celebrated their live debut in 2018 at the Fledermaus in Vienna – a performance that laid the foundation for further successful concerts. Despite the pandemic-related interruptions, the band remained active and continuously expanded their repertoire. Since 2021, the duo has been joined by drummer Timo Kamryt for live performances, which further enriches their sound and adds even more dynamism to their stage presence.
In 2024, Strange Enough released their first EP, Stairs, featuring four tracks, on all major streaming platforms. That same year, they contributed a remix for Robota robotny, a side project of Seelennacht, and also released their own remix of their song "Only the Living." Further performances and projects are already in the works.
Musically, Strange Enough move confidently between synth-pop, electro, disco, and punk, combining catchy melodies with powerful electronic elements. Martin Marksteiner was previously active as a keyboardist and songwriter with Passion Plastique (Hollow Fields), while Hel Prixs gained experience as the singer of the well-known band Sharon Next (Der Hase), who also performed as a support act for And One.
With their experience, creative energy and stylistic diversity, Strange enough stand for modern, authentic electro-pop with international appeal – emotional, danceable and always with its own character.
