TANTE DOKTOR

A sick world—but what is healthy? How many bad jokes can one tolerate? What really helps with a hangover the next morning? Questions upon questions to which Aunt Doctor has more than one answer.
Tante Doktor, a band of musicians and doctors from Giessen, processes their experiences and impressions from everyday hospital life and what little remains of their life on their current album, "Bettnachbar." With gnarly pop and fluffy indie, the two voices help each other with Rhodes, bass, and beats to convey their powerful lyrics to the audience.
A partially disturbing, consistently captivating, and palpably authentic insight into the emotional world behind and beneath the lab coat. Aunt Doctor promises an intense evening without a waiting room and with a broad spectrum of symptoms. From a lump in the throat to sore laughing muscles to the delayed reverberation risk.

"...Aunt Doctor manages the balancing act between sadness and happiness with wonderful ease. She conjures up a smile on the faces around her, or a sense of contemplation, with soulful music, quirky anecdotes, and jokes. Aunt Doctor has nothing in common with naive do-gooders. Here, musical and lyrical creativity go hand in hand with sensitive yet X-ray-accurate observations. From a different perspective, they completely "unsterile" change our view of a still taboo area of our society." (Badisches Tagblatt)
"What initially seems like a threat to a hypochondriac turns out to be first-class upon first listen. Such vocally powerful medical poetry is a punch to the gut, yet whimsical enough to captivate the listener with a certain degree of fascination." (www.lieinthesound.com)
