TRIO 3D

"Thank you" is the theme of the new CD by Trio 3D (Dörsam, Dörsam, Dörsam). The thanks go to the parents of the three Dörsam brothers. The recordings were made at the request of and in collaboration with their mother as a gift for her 95th birthday.

The songs and chorales invite meditation, contemplation, and tranquility, and are arranged in an incredibly diverse way. Each musician has taken on the pieces and shaped them in their own unique way. The arrangements of the classical compositions place great demands on the musicians and arrangers.

In harmony with their three instruments, the spiritual character must be preserved while simultaneously creating something new that fits the trio's line-up of bassoon, clarinet, and guitar. This requires a great deal of concentration and musical sensitivity.

"I pray to the power of love" and "Caro mio ben" (Italian aria "Dearest my heart") are my mother's favorite melodies. The CD begins with them. Mozart's "Laudate Dominum" with singer Sabrina Keller is a particular highlight. The ballad "The Clock" by Carl Loewe is a symbol of our heart and illustrates the happy course of our lives. Michael Valentin's voice has rendered it very sensitively. Arrangements of classical compositions such as JS Bach's "Air," Bach/Gounod's "Ave Maria," and Mozart's "Ave Maria" can also be heard. The crowning finale is the piece "Näfäsch," with David Plüss playing the organ and Matthias Dörsam on tenor saxophone.
