Fat Texas blues paired with rock 'n' roll – a fusion from the "new generation" of German blues. It's a thing – in the southern states of Germany, specifically in the Chiemgau region. What the guys started as young wild ones over a decade ago has now become a real blues hurricane with a loaded portion of rock 'n 'roll.
Michael “Tscheky” Sedlatschek (born 1998), bandleader, lead guitarist and singer, had probably the most profound musical experience at the age of 6 when he saw Stevie Ray Vaughan on his dad’s VHS tape in 1984 at the Rockpalast / Loreley – Stevie has never left his mind since then.
In 2011, he founded the band "Tscheky & The Blues Kings" with Christoph Voggesser on rhythm guitar and blues harp. Andreas Schatz hammers away on the piano keys, adding boogie influences and organ sounds to the band's sound.
Markus Rehrl provides the necessary groove on the Fender bass, and he joins Elija von Le Suire on drums to form the perfect rhythm section. Definitely "bad to the bone"!
So what makes this band so special? You might think that the blues, in its various forms, is like a dusty book on a shelf – far from it! It's precisely their energetic and authentic performance that captivates young and old alike. It's not uncommon for young teenagers to suddenly say, "I didn't know this music could grab you so much! I don't normally listen to this kind of thing, but this is pretty crazy!"
The secret is surely that Tscheky & The Blues Kings pay homage to their idols and proudly put their own stamp on it. Combined with their own songs, a show by the band becomes a true "Louisiana Gumbo"!
