Acting Time is the first album by Zoey Gley, a joint project by German musicians Romy Ziegler and Michael Samman. Romy not only acts as the frontwoman and face of the band, but also as a singer and songwriter whose soulful melodies and emotional lyrics are musically formative. Her expressive songs deal with interpersonal relationships, personal experiences, and universal themes such as love, loss, and self-discovery. The stylistically diverse musical arrangements are characterized by sophisticated vocal polyphony, with Romy singing all the background vocals and accompanying her on the piano. With Michael on guitar and synthesizer, this creates the band's trademark passion and authenticity. Among their many musical role models, artists such as Amy Lee, Agnes Obel, London Grammar, and Steven Wilson deserve special mention.

Due to her versatility and creativity, Zoey Gley is also in demand for various projects. For example, she contributed lyrics and vocals to the track "Sempre o Mesmo" on German musician and composer Markus Reuter's 2022 album "Mata Atlântica - Retiro e Ritmo." In 2023, Zoey Gley released "One With Earth," an electro/dance EP whose tracks are also included as bonus tracks on the album "Acting Time."
