Abstürzende Brieftauben - Heute doof und morgen doof und übermorgen wieder Die Geschichte der Abstürzenden Brieftauben) (Buch inkl. CD)
“Today stupid and tomorrow stupid and the day after tomorrow again” tells the story of the first 35 years of the band history of the Abstürzende Brieftauben and traces the development of (fun) punk in Germany.
Founded in late 1983 as a mockery of NDW in the heart of Hanover's vibrant punk scene, the self-proclaimed "Fun Punk Duo No. 1" would rise to become the flagship of German fun punk by the early 1990s. Neither the turbulent DIY genesis of their 1986 debut album "Das brüssen wir schon hin" (We'll Get It Done), nor the incredible record deal with EMI starting in 1989 (including collaborations with BRAVO and the newly formed private television network), nor the 1990 Festival of Folk Music tour through eastern Germany, nor even the guest appearance in Hape Kerkeling's cult film "Kein Pardon" (1993) are omitted.
In over 30 interviews, companions and contemporary witnesses (e.g., Olga of the Toy Dolls, Ted Gaier and Schorsch Kamerun of the Goldenen Zitronen, Rodrigo González of the Ärzte) describe in their own words what really happened, how they experienced it back then, and how they feel about it today. This biography was created in close collaboration with founding member Micro Bogumil and is authorized by the band and its management.
