Quite a long way behind unknown roads, a lot can await you – especially a few surprises… With “Far Beyond The Road”, Andreas Witte presents a versatile, playful and surprising guitar instrumental album that cannot be clearly assigned to just one genre – here the joy of experimentation and flexibility is more than clear.
Particularly striking is the extremely dynamic solo guitar playing, which, for once, doesn't impress with breathtaking virtuosity, but rather with tangible melodic lines that are easy to hear. Andreas Witte, who was influenced by instrumental guitar music of various genres from an early age, creates a variety of timbres with the guitar and its dynamics, which can easily replace a vocal line.
The style of the album is also not boring: the entirely self-written songs range from rock to blues and ballads to pieces that suggest influences from Dire Straits and Pink Floyd.
The guitarist, who hails from the Vogelsberg region of Hesse, collected his own songs over the years and finally arranged them into "Far Beyond The Road." According to Andreas, the album represents a continuous process—and thus also a piece of his life story. What backgrounds or histories may have influenced the various pieces on the album is ultimately left to the listener's imagination...
