Dry sounds of an acoustic guitar, a harmonica and the words “Gonna tell you 'bout a girl” open the new album “Double Trouble” by blues singer and songwriter Bad Temper Joe.
And then he begins to tell his story: about the girl who teaches men a lesson (Girl from the East), muses about love and sin (If Tears Were Diamonds), sings about the only thing that makes him happy (I'll Be Happy When You Cry), talks about his daily routine (24 Hours of the Day), or simply wishes for answers (Ever Meet Again). So that he doesn't have to bear all this blues alone, harmonica player Marcel Rahe joins him on six of the ten songs, providing musical support where needed.
“Double Trouble” offers acoustic blues, songs and stories reduced to the essentials, the lyrics are the focus, the music is sparse, the songs are simply knitted, as you would expect from Bad Temper Joe.
