"Orbit" is the new album by trumpeter, pianist, and composer Barabas – a cinematic and meditative sonic journey between jazz, neoclassical, ambient, and electronic music. Piano, trumpet, and synthesizer move around each other like celestial bodies, creating a sound universe that is both intimate and expansive.
From the majestic "Fanfare" through the luminous synth pulse of "Red" and the cosmic title track "Orbit" to the quiet piano moments of "Moon" and "Eclipse," the album unfolds as an inward journey. Melancholy, warmth, and atmospheric expansiveness meet delicate electronic rhythms and Barabas's signature trumpet playing.
The Hungarian-born musician is one of Europe's most versatile trumpeters, having blended jazz with pop, electronica, and neoclassical influences for many years. With "Orbit," he creates a counterpoint to the fast-paced outside world: music for slowing down, immersing oneself, and pausing for reflection.
The album is released by Timezone Records and was co-produced with Marc Urselli in New York.
