"All of us are needed and more and more..."
With MELON, multi-instrumentalist Bernhard Bauch now presents his solo debut album.
A new exploration of the boundaries of indie pop. The instrumentation is kept very minimal. The first pieces were created with just a harmonium and drums. Added to that are electric bass, synthesizers, and finally, a voice. Squeaking, clanging synths replace catchy choruses. Comically critical and ambiguous lyrics invite you into softly shimmering soundscapes.
Strong influences of the 80s can be seen in both the sound and the rhythm - but the album does without any electronics.
In addition, the guest appearance of Anton Huth on saxophone complements two pieces.
Some text templates come from the pen of Gernot Untergruber, an artificial (un)intelligence - a machine, a digital personality - that produces texts independently and automatically.
Post-futuristic sounds and moods, timelessly disintegrating and driving.
all this is MELON.
