With "My Rain," Charlotte Pelgen presents her second album, full of delicate miniatures blending folk, swing, and chanson. It explores themes of lightness and heaviness, letting go and arriving – personal, charming, and rich in musical diversity.
The ukulele, Charlotte's main instrument, takes center stage, its warm sound blending with cello and violin. Toby Kuhn and Lotte Remmen form the string section. Charlotte's father, Christoph Pelgen, also contributes with mandolin, guitar, and low whistle – for Charlotte, this brings things full circle.
Her delicate, expressive voice is a recurring theme throughout the album. The songs tell of personal experiences and moments of the here and now, and at the same time function like musical diaries in which many can find themselves reflected.
Charlotte Pelgen, born in 1996, has been a professional musician for ten years and specializes in historical ukulele techniques of the early 20th century. She has received several awards for her work.
