Feel what's truly important. Don't mourn missed opportunities. Simply live. Now. What virtually every lifestyle magazine proclaims these days is easier said than done. Christian Falk, to his annoyance, also discovered this. With his concept album "Jetzt," the songwriter takes us on a journey along the narrow ridge between the future and the past.
The result: ten elaborate, musical snapshots. Ten personal, contrasting moments. Each one extracted from the torturously nostalgic whirlwind of thoughts that almost every thirty-year-old must contend with sooner or later. Politics and society are also included: "Suddenly, the news on television has a completely different weight for me," says Christian Falk. It affects me directly and is no longer just the abstract entertainment of others. It's logical that current concerns about a society drifting apart are reflected in the songs. Together with producer Tobi Schneider, Christian Falk took a lot of time to develop the sound of his concept album, and so it was ultimately time to say goodbye to rock. Instead, Falk and his cellist Friedemann Eich devote themselves entirely to the singer-songwriter genre – sophisticated, thoughtful, and brutally honest.
The second part of the concept series, "Now," will be followed in the future by "Afterward." Until then, the album, in addition to Christian Falk's personal snapshot, remains a call to himself to enjoy the here and now. For him, that would mean, for example, fully absorbing the good feeling after his numerous concerts and brooding less about the future.
