Macramé, the term comes from Arabic and describes the artful tying of knots. For guitarist Christian Rosenau, it is a metaphor for the diverse encounters, for the loose and tighter connections we form over time, which, beyond their pure function, shape our own life. The ten virtuoso instrumental pieces on his album tell of these encounters, of the courageous plunge into adventure, head first (Head Ahead), of the love letters that life writes (Love Letters), of influences, loyal companions (Boubou's Dream), of places (Saint-Lunaire), and formative experiences (Now Will Have Been). The music forms the framework in which all the many colorful threads converge; it is an exhilarating appeal to sensuality and conscious being in the here and now.
