Coconut Kings - Lost & Thirsty In Palookaville (7" Vinyl-Single)
After a year and a half, the duo Hannibal Slim and Captain Boogie formed the five-person band Coconut Kings. Initially, the band played (and rehearsed) only on the streets, where they could both have fun and make some money.
All members of the band from Valais, Switzerland, share a love for American Black music from the 1900s to the late 1960s: swing, jazz, blues, soul, Delta blues, and especially rhythm and blues, as well as dirty rock and roll. In addition to Howlin' Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Bunker Hill, and various Chess Records releases, their sources of inspiration include several films by Jim Jarmusch and the Coen brothers, and books by Henry Charles Bukowski.
