Work on the new album began in 2018. Meanwhile, in 2021, “Das Abendland Projekt” released its third album, “Basta & Amen”. Both the music and the lyrics paint a picture of the late 3th and early 18th centuries, a time of great unrest in Europe. The common thread that followed was “being on the road”, wandering through landscapes and historical events and encountering people who are (or should be) familiar to us from history. This departure, which musically and lyrically stretches like a brushstroke in a high arc across the continent, sweeping from France via Scotland, Norway, Russia, Prussia, the Duchy of Weimar, to Austria, Tyrol and Italy, before finally coming to an end on the German Baltic Sea shore. Well, for all those who like great theater or music that combines neoclassicism and electronica; who love the paintings of Kasper David Friedrich; Feeling sympathy for Andreas Hofer or searching in vain through schoolbooks for what happened in the Vendee during the French Revolution? May many of you be transported, smiling or enthusiastic, to a bygone era, while listening thoughtfully to the magnificent voices of the speakers. Among them:
Björn Schalla: the German dubbing voice of, among others, Charlie Hunnam in Sons of Anarchy and Travis Fimmel in the role of Ragnar Lodbrok in Vikings.
Frank Glaubrecht: the German voice of Pierce Brosnan, Kevin Costner, Al Pacino and Christopher Walken
Engelbert von Nordhausen: German dubbing voice in cinemas, among others, of: Samuel L. Jackson, Gene Hackman, Danny Glover,
Bernd Vollbrecht, the German dubbing voice of: Antonio Banderas, Robert Knepper, Viggo Mortensen, Ted McGinley, Jason Flemyng, Christopher Eccleston and more
Jan Spitzer, among others the German cinema/series/film voice of: Chris Cooper, Sam Elliott, Ted Levine, Joaquim de Almeida, Alan Arkin, Brad Garrett
Aima Lichtblau: singer/composer/poet/graphic designer.
Either way, we hope that the audience will be touched by the music, the words and the voices and find themselves on a great journey.
