Dias Karimov was born in 1983 in Ufa, Russia. He comes from a family rich in musical tradition and has been playing the piano since the age of 6. His father, a pianist and composer, Airat Karimov, was Dias's classical music teacher throughout his childhood, taught him his first steps in improvisation, and still watches him compose. In 1990, Dias began studying classical piano at a music high school, graduating with honors in 2001. In 2005, Dias earned his diploma as a concert pianist from the Ufa Academy, where he soon accepted an offer to work as a music teacher.
Dias's love of jazz and improvisation brought him to Weimar in 2008, where he studied jazz piano at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music. He subsequently dedicated his talents to various crossover projects. He currently works as a lecturer at the Frankfurt Music Academy. He also performs solo concerts and performs with various musicians and styles.
