Come to me in the night... ...and all of life's colorfulness will be ours! Exuberant, exuberant, mature, and sweet. These are the poems, feelings, and songs of the writer Else Lasker-Schüler (1869-1945). Else Lasker-Schüler is undoubtedly the poet of Expressionism. Her love poems are among the most beautiful written in the German language. But she also achieved extraordinary things as a playwright, storyteller, illustrator, and, last but not least, as a performance artist. In her art, as well as in life, she followed her own path without compromise, not shying away from strong emotions and gestures, but also showing a side of playful humor and satirical quick wit. The centerpiece of the album "Come to me in the night..." are the wonderful love poems, set to music and arranged by Sibylle Friz & HerrhusBand. The compositional focal point is the acoustic cello, which is complemented by an electric bass and a variety of electronic effects, percussion, and a virtual mariachi orchestra. Isa Fallenbacher's warm, clear voice floats above it all, lending the songs a golden yet unpretentious radiance. Stylistically, the song compositions wander through the colorful world of popular music, giving the lavish lyrics space and time to resonate and reflect.
