"50 Beatles Songs On Classical Guitar (With And Without Percussion)" is the last completed production by Eckhardt Günther. The composer, musician, and lyricist passed away in December 2025.
On this release, Günther interprets a diverse selection of 50 Beatles songs on classical guitar. In doing so, he combines his musical roots from the 1960s – when he discovered rock and the beat music of that era – with his later-developed fascination and virtuoso technique on the classical guitar.
In collaboration with his son Benjamin Günther, a total of 50 recordings were made between 2023 and 2025. Benjamin Günther produced the double album and, according to his father's vision, added electronically composed drums or recorded additional percussion elements. The arrangements of the Beatles compositions are by Larry Beekmann, Joe Washington, and Eckhardt Günther himself.
The timeless songs of the Beatles meet multifaceted reinterpretations and virtuoso guitar playing – embedded in a unique sound aesthetic that gives this release a special signature.
