“Backpack, bricks, Spree or life?” This was the question the “Elbsegler” asked himself and it was also the starting signal for the work on his debut album “Fluss statt Land” (River instead of Land), in which he tries to answer this question.
In his songs, the Hanover-based singer-songwriter describes authentic episodes from his life, from his youth to the present. The central character, Elbsegler, moves through the cosmos of Hanover. Those who take their time and immerse themselves in the album will be taken on an exciting journey with a sea of emotions.
Ultimately, the album makes you want to go to the sea, because the story of the Elbe sailor is far from over. Inspired by the early days of Britpop, the Elbe sailor taught himself to play the guitar. Over time, he took drum lessons from Hanover-based jazz drummer Albi Husen, who, many years later, assisted him as a producer, arranger, and good friend during the recording of his debut album, "Fluss statt Land."
For his album, the Elbe sailor left nothing to chance. He enlisted illustrious guest musicians for several songs, including Christoph van Hal on trumpet in "Leinen los" and Andreas Jäger on jazz guitar in "Minou." Since, for the Elbe sailor, a successful album involves more than just the music, his work didn't end with the studio recordings.
In a homage to art, photography and design, the singer-songwriter created the Elbe sailor with loving attention to detail.
