For 2023, Erk's motto is: "All you need is love!" or "All you need is Erk," as Maik Brüggemeyer from Rolling Stone puts it. Just in time for the 60th anniversary of the US release of "Love Me Do," Erk is releasing a selection of his favorite Beatles songs, including 13 cover versions, on a 12-inch vinyl album to spread a bit of love, joy, and optimism in these difficult times. When he was asked in 2019, shortly before the editorial deadline, whether he would contribute the medley "Golden Slumbers Carry That Weight The End" to the CD supplement "Rare Trax Vol. 119 / Abbey Road Revisited" for the October issue of Rolling Stone, Erk, with the active support of his drummer Martin Hoffmann, produced the medley in just two days and was thrilled with the result... without any guitars! Then the pandemic hit, and Erk thought: there's more to come...
