In recent years, Finn Ritter's gaze has been strongly focused on the past, as evidenced by albums like "Retro," "Orter," and "Exil." Omnipresent throughout has been the exploration of psychological imprints and patterns and the role these patterns play in experiencing and coping with the present—or even in failing to cope with it.
With the new album "DA", Ritter's gaze - while retaining the previous musical means - now turns much more towards the present and the future, which of course also necessarily involves a search for the past this time.
DA, therefore, as existence, which inevitably also touches on the future and the end of (one's own) being.
THERE but also how to be there: for others and with a view to the others, the loved ones, the closest and those who are not (yet) so close.
And to have arrived THERE, knowing full well that something like this cannot be final.
By the way, DA also means double album. The release was initially sketched out in rough outlines, but a lot of details were deleted and painted over before the final image was finalized. These demos, which were set aside, will be released later in early 2024 on three digital EPs for those interested, essentially a pipe dream.
