It's rare these days to be musically surprised. Most things have been heard before, in one form or another. This is different with "Body Of Your Dreams" by JacobTV (Jacob Ter Veldhuis), in the exemplary interpretation by the guitar duo Reichelt & Nissen. The Dutch composer has cut an American TV commercial for a fitness belt into sound snippets and composed an electronic sound collage from them, played on the audio player, to which the guitar duo plays notated parts. The result: a fascinating work that surprises, reveals, and yet still swings.
The latter is a credit to the young, brilliantly harmonized guitar duo, who present the work with perfect timing and sensitive interpretation. With great sensitivity, expressiveness, and passion, Luisa Marie Reichelt and Johann Jacob Nissen also interpret the other works by Mertz, Castelnuovo-Tedesco, and Piazzolla, as well as Franz Schubert's Impromptu Op. 90, No. 1, which they also arranged for two guitars themselves. – A debut that deserves to be heard!
