Rock, bounce, dance, cry, and smile with the Jan Felix Band's debut album. Bursting rock riffs, glittering glam funk, and melancholically vibrating woodwinds are combined by the Jan Felix Band (founded in 2018) on their debut. The seven guys and girls fire up a ton of energy and emotion, setting amplifiers, vintage synthesizers, and organs ablaze with energy. The music references retro rock and soul as well as modern pop trends. There's also a touch of R&B and lush hip-hop beats. JFB activates brain and booty, daring to take on quite a few stylistic challenges. It's good, though, that the exuberant solos, colorful choirs, and sparkling funk always lead you musically home and back to yourself. The sound is more important than genres here.
