This unique album juxtaposes field recordings—sounds from special places and hidden everyday noises—with 20th-century guitar works. The contrast between guitar sounds and noises opens up spaces for one's own images, associations, and feelings.
In addition to Benjamin Britten's incomparable "Nocturnal after John Dowland," rarely performed compositions by Japanese composer Akira Ifukube and Azerbaijani composer Frangiz Ali-zade will be heard, among others. Thus, a spotlight is cast on the most diverse musical traditions of the 20th century.
