Jean-Peter Braun - Lamentos do Morro [Brazilian Guitar] (CD)

As a classically trained guitarist, Jean-Peter Braun devoted himself early on to Brazilian music, particularly duo work with Brazilian singers. His preferred repertoire includes bossa nova, choro, samba in the tradition of Baden Powell and Joao Gilberto, as well as South American classical compositions by masters such as Heitor Villa Lobos and Antonio Lauro.
Jean-Peter Braun has released numerous CDs, sheet music editions, and various collections of aphorisms on art and music. His teachers include Prof. Karl Scheidt, Prof. Olaf van Gonnissen, and Prof. Michael Sagmeister. "Lamentos do Morro" is the second solo CD of a total of six released albums. During the Corona break, Jean-Peter Braun expanded his solo repertoire with additional pieces with a typically Brazilian attitude. Lyle Mays, Yamandu Costa, and Romero Lubambo served as inspirational sources. The present CD was the result.
