Singer-songwriter Joe Bennick presents his new CD on the independent record label TIMEZONE records, which stands for innovation and stylistic diversity. "Blossom and Gloom" explores a wide range of emotions in a thrilling musical interplay.
It's the contrasts that give Joe Bennick's art its special appeal. On his second CD, "Blossom and Gloom," he combines bright, radiant sounds with energetic lyrics, and gentle poetry with a powerful sound. He thus demonstrates once again that he is a stylistically diverse artist whose music is not only an expression of his poetry, but also always an allusion to the contradictions of emotions. On his debut CD, Bennick already alluded to the apparent incompatibility of things with the title "In Close Distance." With "Blossom and Gloom," he once again creates listening experiences that invite immersion.
In its musical interpretation, the CD relies on the impact of the live experience without neglecting the technical possibilities of studio production. Electronic elements create sound effects, while extra soundtracks create density and provide a strong musical expression. Joe Bennick brings the sound of the stage into the living room, creating an intimate listening experience with his songs, in which guitar and voice meld together in the most subtle way.
Joe Bennick writes the music and lyrics for his songs himself. "Blossom and Gloom" is based on poems whose content moves between stagnation and change. What appears to be contradictory yet exists in constant coexistence; the rational makes room for emotion, the metaphorical and the literal coexist without creating disruption. In his songs, Joe Bennick reflects on familiar moments and phenomena, but also allows us a glimpse into his very personal emotional world.
Singer-songwriter Joe Bennick is also an author. His first novel was published in 2016, followed by his first volume of poetry in 2021. He is a regular guest on German concert stages, where he has found his place in the singer-songwriter spectrum, ranging from folk-pop to acoustic indie.
In reading concerts, he combines his works with music, and since 2020 he has been touring with "Bulli Concerts" on the mobile stage of his VW bus.
