Pianist Klemens Kaatz presents his new solo album "Speaking in Keys." In his original instrumental compositions, he tells musical stories, poems, anecdotes, and aphorisms. These are pieces that speak, acoustic narratives that seem to possess a life of their own. The music is inspired equally by Balkan folk music, fusion jazz, and modern classics. It sounds sometimes offbeat and scratchy, sometimes light and exhilarating, sometimes opaque and somber, sometimes rhythmic and danceable, and it is always beautiful.
