"Bonanza Deluxe" is the title of the new album by Krueger's Randgruppe from Osnabrück. However, the band doesn't sound entirely 70s (when Bonanza bikes first came to Europe!), 80s, 90s, or 00s. Krueger's Randgruppe plays 2019 pop music at its freshest. "Dancen" and "Scharfe Schuhe" open the diverse album with a groovy, earthy feel. Listening to them immediately makes you want to tap your feet. The following songs, in a relaxed, light swing, describe "idleness" in all its facets. The following songs skillfully serve the pop segment with high recognition: "Die Internationale" (rocks!), "Schwankungen," "Mit ohne Plan," and "Manche Menschen" vary the tempo and impress with their catchy quality. Humming, singing, and swaying along are highly recommended!
Borrowing from the modern blend of reggae and ska, the "Fahrradsong" (Bicycle Song) then bridges the gap to the album title, before "Baby Dein Haus" once again taps into the melancholic popular register. The uptempo, feel-good song "Ab da Lack" heralds the finale of "Bonanza deluxe" and, after 10 songs, leaves us with the feeling: "Too bad, it's already over." Lyrically, Krueger's Randgruppe addresses the worries and hardships of everyday life, singing about relationships and wanderlust, dreams – and cycling in the city (Osnabrück). It's clear from Krueger's Randgruppe that the five guys are old hands in the business, having expertly set their songs to music with plenty of joy, passion, and a wink. The sound, for which Matthias Lohmöller's Osnabrück-based DocMastudio is responsible, is powerful and leaves nothing (audiophile) to be desired. As the opening song says: to dance, you need solid ground beneath your feet. And music. "Bonanza Deluxe" provides the perfect soundtrack.
