Lars Kutschke was fortunate enough to study blues, gospel, and soul music practically at its source. As guitarist and musical director for singer Sharrie Williams, he spent years touring the US and around the world. For his album "While We're Here," he gathered musical friends and collaborators from the international music scene, including Tad Robinson, Kirk Fletcher, Alberto Marsico, and Alex Schultz, to record seven original compositions and perform three of his favorite songs. With the numerous guests present on almost every track, the recording never becomes a "guitarist's album." The sonic palette ranges from lushly orchestrated soul tracks with brass sections and strings to the classic organ trio lineup and an earthy power trio.
