Just in time for the (post-)apocalypse, Austria's LAUSCH have captured the captivating energy of their music on an album for the third time, proclaiming the doom of the Isle of the Blessed. And as with so many things, the full extent of their work can only be appreciated by listening carefully and repeatedly.
It has a remote, almost meditative feel when the three gentlemen mercilessly drive a song forward, each new part hammering more intensely than the previous one, many a thunderstorm beautifully dissolving into magnificent chords, which, accompanied by the epic singing of a well-oiled voice, are able to convey completely new emotions to the soul.
Off the beaten track, this seemingly steam-powered conglomerate of pounding grooves, raucous basses and crunchy guitars unfolds its absolutely unique (root) flavor in the form of raw beauty.
