Since 2006, Uwe Cremer, born in Düsseldorf and from Cologne, has been publishing his sound sculptures inspired by Kraut, art and space rock under the name Level π, which he perceives as musical narratives.
In the stories on his fifth album, "Electronic Philosophy," Cremer takes the listener on a variety of journeys: through the night with a TEE, on a long journey through the depths of space, through the convolutions of Don Quixote's brain, or through time. Along the way, you take an acoustic-like break, philosophize according to the Berlin School, or chill at home. Hypnotic sequences, analog or electronic rhythms, Cremer's soulful guitar, and a wide variety of electronic sounds and effects form the common thread that runs through the album and from which his instrumental stories are spun. Moog sounds, string synthesizers, organ, and Mellotron repeatedly demonstrate where Cremer's musical heart lies. In the spirit of a modern version of Krautrock, he experiments with loops and trip hop beats, fusing them with elements of classic EM. He skillfully combines Berlin School-style sequences with rock influences, or creates dreamy atmospheres with synthesizers and reverbed guitars, which then transition into breakbeat-driven passages. Dramatically imaginatively staged and dynamically varied, the pieces stimulate the imagination and gently guide the listener into Cremer's visually powerful musical cosmos.
