Piano Pentagon - this term associates color mixtures of musical perceptions from the sound palette of five well-known composers of classical piano literature.
Corner 1: Polyphonic Bridge It begins with a prelude and fugue from Johann Sebastian Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier, a compositional concept primarily found in the Baroque period, but also found in transformed form in other eras. Thus, the polyphonic bridge leads us to the Romantic period and Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy. Corner 2: Singing Keys Here we find a selection of Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy’s wonderfully “sung” piano songs, which tell musical stories even without words. Corner 3: Poetic Microcosm We immerse ourselves in the romantic musical world of the piano poet Frédéric Chopin, a multidimensional microcosm of brilliance, dance, melancholy, night dreams and joyful cascades. Corner 4: Nature A selection from Robert Schumann's forest scenes invites us to take a walk in nature. Corner 5: Appassionato Our Pentagon tour comes to an energetic conclusion with a passionate storm written by Alexander Scriabin. The diversity of musical ideas and energies that exchange within the five corners can be viewed and experienced individually or in their relationship to one another. The German-Bulgarian pianist Maria Kiosseva, recognized by the press for her "flawless virtuosity" and "sonic sensitivity" (Ludwigsburger Zeitung), has performed in various concerts and festivals in Bulgaria, Germany, Mongolia, the Netherlands, France, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, and the USA (as solo pianist at Carnegie Hall, New York). Her activities as a soloist with orchestras include performances at Ludwigsburg Palace, the Pushkin Theater in Yevpatoria, the Novi Jicin Theater, the Bunka Kaikan in Tokyo, the Sofia State Academy of Music, the Forum Ludwigsburg, and the Sliven Theater, among others. She has received over 5 prizes in competitions in Europe and North America and has participated in recordings for Bulgarian National Television and Radio, 15 SAT Television, Bavarian Radio, Plush Music Television (England), Classic FM Radio, and Alma Mater Radio, as well as various CD productions.
