When the lines between self-pity and hatred blur, it's time to speak up. In the three years since the release of their debut album "Brutalin," a lot has happened that deserves attention and musical exploration. And so, in addition to personal themes, "Selbstmitleitkultur" also features observations on world events and the gradual erosion of empathy. Fanatics of all stripes are preparing the ground for populists ("Sehnenden Auges," "Treibhaus"). Neighbors and friends are forgetting how to talk to one another and are taking refuge in their filter bubbles ("Selbstmitleitkultur"). Inner conflicts and fears about the future ("Janusmann," "Das Rad," "Opferkreise") are forcing their way into consciousness, and yet there are always those moments when everything just fits, you can forget everything ("Adrenalin") and find the strength to overcome yourself to make the world a little better ("Unbesiegbar"). Between madness and desperate optimism, "self-pity culture" strikes where others spout hollow slogans and platitudes – right in the face. "For the country – the poets and thinkers, they become judge and executioner."
