Over the past few years, we've seen Michael Lane express both positive upheaval and pain through his music - personal stories we can identify with. Now it's time for Michael Lane's new album, "Traveling Son" (Greywood/Timezone), which will be released on October 25th. "Traveling Son" portrays the story of a six-year-old boy who traveled 7.000 miles with his mother to a place that never became home. For the first time, the album includes numerous original compositions as well as tracks co-written with other musicians who allow their own personalities to shine through. Thus, "Traveling Son" becomes a shared expression of fragility. In "Believe," the album's first single, Michael Lane isn't afraid to challenge modern societal norms and invites the listener to rediscover their own perspective, even their own stubbornness. "Believe" encourages you to free the repressed version of yourself from its shackles and follow your dreams.
The German-American has experienced many facets of life. As a 20-year-old US Army soldier stationed in Iraq, and later in Afghanistan, and simultaneously with a strong passion for music, Michael Lane was able to experience life's extremes at an early age: separation from war and unity in music. "As a soldier, I witnessed the cruel absurdity of the war. It is inconceivable to me what must happen in other people to make such conditions possible. After that, it was clear to me that I had to find a way in my own way to do something against this madness. Music was my key. It connects people to each other, and I want to contribute to that."
