The motif of the album cover is, so to speak, the common thread of songwriter Michael Witte's fifth album. The rocking title track begins an emotional biography, and the following tracks sincerely describe the imponderable nature of not losing sight of goals and hope. "When your summit is already full of foreign flags – then show everyone what's still possible." Complemented by the saxophone of Osnabrück-based companion Tommy Schneller, Witte recorded all the tracks himself for the first time, and the spectrum of instruments and genre-spanning nuances creates a successful arc of suspense.
After the powerful departure of the first half, the songs increasingly focus on the past, culminating in the final track, "Home." Once there, many impressions remain. Above all, the feeling of having a concept album in front of you that tells its universal and transferable story. Michael Witte lives in Aachen and, in addition to his songs, also writes and produces music for dance theater and film projects. Live, he presents his music with great sympathy and authenticity in solo concerts and with the support of his accomplished band. The remixed track "Ich möchte dich nicht sehn" (I don't want to see you) was released as a video in 2016 as part of a charity campaign.
This received considerable praise and recognition, especially from fellow musicians. The lyrics also appeared in the book "Zwischen Kommen und bleiben" (Between Coming and Staying) with an essay by Michael Witte.
