Mick Stender is the new rock 'n' roll icon of the 21st century. The 24-year-old singer-songwriter is an ambitious musician who writes his own songs in the Americana and rock 'n' roll style. He is inspired by musicians like Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Danny Vera. His debut EP, Let's Rock 'n Roll Again, was released on May 28. This EP is all about the new rock 'n roll. Ripping guitars, running bass lines, and a rough, dark voice. The 1950s in a new guise. With songs like "Don't Touch The Hair" (inspired by Elvis Presley's "Blue Suede") Shoes by Elvis Presley) and I Can Still Remember (the song about the lost love), Mick shares part of his diary in the form of songs. With this EP, Mick was nominated for the Jacques de Leeuw Prize and Giel Beelen and enabled Mick to be a weekly guest on NPO RADIO 2. What you see is what you get! That's what the jury of the Jacques de Leeuw Prize says. A down-to-earth guy who likes to bring people into a cool show. Mick's mission is clear: to bring the solid Americana sound to the Netherlands. That's Mick Stender: take it or leave it!
